About the Role
Job Title
The role involves a variety of responsibilities related to afloat networks and enterprise services onboard Command Ships.
Key Duties
Responsible for the current afloat networks and enterprise services installed onboard Command Ships.
Provide technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports (CASREPS).
Ensure quality and cost-effective troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications to surface ships and train military personnel in preparation for them to return to sea.
Responsible for Afloat Networks troubleshooting and repair work for forces afloat.
Manage the area of automated digital processing, tactical, and information systems onboard afloat units.
Provide technical assistance on complex technical problems beyond the capability of forces afloat, intermediate maintenance activities, or repair activities to diagnose and correct.
Provide authoritative technical/engineering guidance to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) activities and port engineers in resolution of repair/overhaul or test/grooming problems beyond their level of in-house engineering expertise.
Perform special engineering analyses and studies for the purpose of developing or evaluating improvements in design, maintenance procedures, material, etc.
Perform functional checkout, assessment, adjustment, and test of new or modernized shipboard systems in a systems qualifications test environment, with primary responsibility for operation of major afloat network subsystems.
Participate in ordnance alterations (ORDALTs), ship alterations, and field changes (FCs) which include actual hands-on modification of components.
Provide corrected system information and configurations to the Combat Systems Supervisor, ship's Commanding Officer, Port Engineer, and the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA).
Serve as team leader of organized teams.
Responsible in reviewing, correcting, and updating technical, maintenance, and operational documentation.
