About the Role

Physics Subject Matter Expert - AI Content Specialist

We're looking for physics experts to help evaluate and improve AI systems trained on advanced scientific content. Your deep understanding of physical principles will directly shape how AI reasons through complex problems — making a real impact on the future of scientific AI.

This is a fully remote contract role designed for physicists who want to apply their expertise in a flexible, intellectually engaging environment. No prior AI experience required.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
  • Design advanced physics problems spanning mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and more
  • Develop rigorous, step-by-step solutions that demonstrate clear physical reasoning
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for scientific accuracy, logical consistency, and quality of reasoning
  • Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks across undergraduate to Masters-level physics topics
  • Provide structured, constructive feedback that helps improve AI model performance
  • Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule
Who You Are
  • Currently pursuing or holding a Masters degree (or higher) in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills across multiple advanced physics domains
  • Able to communicate complex scientific ideas clearly and precisely in writing
  • Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to evaluating quality and correctness
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
  • No prior AI experience required
Nice to Have
  • Experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation workflows
  • Background in research, tutoring, or academic writing
  • Familiarity with computational or theoretical physics
Why Join Us
  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects in partnership with leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, from anywhere
  • Freelance perks: high autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Engage directly with frontier large language models and influence how they reason about science
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract renewals
  • Contribute to meaningful work that advances the quality of AI in STEM fields
