Senior Financial Analyst
Position Type: Employee [Full-Time] Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 CAD Department: Finance & Operations Reports to: Head of Finance
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will serve in an accounting & operations capacity, owning day to day accounting operations while supporting financial analysis and reporting. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role is critical to ensuring accurate financial records, timely close processes, and strong compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys building structure, taking initiative, and contributing to a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Own month-end accounting close activities, including journal entries and general ledger close processes.
Prepare and analyze variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecasts.
Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for internal reporting and tax purposes, and assist in preparation of quarterly board of director Finance materials.
Draft and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and technical accounting memos.
Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal controls.
Work cross-functionally with Sales & Engineering teams to develop scalable finance processes for revenue operations, accounting automations and cost management.
Manage accounting operations activities including Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and ad-hoc Finance-related projects and administration.
Work directly with external auditors, tax accountants, and legal advisors as required.
Support continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and documentation.
