About the Role

Manager of Education

Remote

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

As the Manager of Education, you'll provide leadership and oversight for our Education Specialists across multiple Compass sites while helping ensure a consistent, high-quality educational experience for our adolescent patients. You'll partner closely with the Center of Excellence (COE) for Education, clinical leadership, and interdisciplinary treatment teams to support educational programming, staff development, and operational excellence.

This role combines people leadership, clinical collaboration, and program implementation. You'll directly manage Education Specialists, support standardized educational initiatives, oversee complex education cases, and help ensure patients receive compassionate, coordinated educational support throughout their treatment.

Please Note: This is a temporary, fixed-term position from August 2026 through May 2027. This role is expected to begin approximately one week prior to the start of the school year, and will conclude on the last day of the school year. Periodic travel to Illinois may be required.

What You'll Do
  • Provide direct leadership and supervision for Education Specialists across multiple sites
  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings to support employee development, coaching, and performance
  • Lead onboarding and training of new Education Specialists in partnership with the Education Center of Excellence
  • Support the implementation of standardized education practices and key organizational initiatives
  • Assign, monitor, and balance Education Specialist caseloads
  • Carry an individual patient caseload as needed
  • Provide consultation and oversight on complex education cases
  • Lead weekly and/or bi-weekly Education team meetings
  • Partner with site leadership by participating in leadership huddles, daily rounds, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Support Academic & Skills Integration and Therapeutic Resource Hour programming
  • Provide LBS1 supervision for Illinois Virtual Program staff and assist with Virtual Academic Skills Integration coverage as needed
  • Coordinate tutoring services, when applicable
  • Partner closely with the Education Center of Excellence to support department goals and initiatives
  • Collaborate with the Billing team to resolve education-related billing questions and ensure appropriate documentation
  • Support billing oversight and education department operational processes
  • Assist with key initiative projects and other priorities as assigned
Who You Are:
  • Master's degree in Education or a related field (highly preferred)
  • Active LBS1 teaching license required
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral health needs
  • Strong knowledge of public school systems, special education processes, IEPs, and educational accommodations
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Passion for supporting children, adolescents, and families through behavioral healthcare

We know job descriptions can be intimidating, so if this sounds like an opportunity for you, please don't hesitate to apply!

Compass Health Center is a recognized leader in crisis-level mental health, bringing passion, connection, and patient-centered care to the Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient space (PHP/IOP). Based in Chicagoland, we serve hundreds of patients every day, ranging from ages 5 through adulthood, in our onsite facilities or through our flourishing virtual programming. Compass fills a critical gap between outpatient and inpatient care through an intermediate level of Behavioral Healthcare.

A few more things we want you to know: our values are super important to us, and hopefully will be to you, too. Cultural humility, teamwork, continuous improvement, connection, patient centered care, passion, innovation, and agility should be your power sources. Joining Compass is an opportunity to feel fulfilled through a joint mission towards healing our communities.

We know that you will be dedicated to your purpose here. We look at that investment as a two-way street. We are proud to offer plenty of space for growth, and opportunities to pursue continuous development within our organization.

For eligible positions, our other benefits include: comprehensive medical/dental/vision plans, 401k program with company matching, generous PTO (including competitive parental leave after 1 year of employment), and continuous training through CEU seminars and volunteering opportunities.

Compass is committed to cultivating diverse and dynamic teams who exude passion for their craft, so whether or not you check all the boxes, we encourage you to apply – we'd be grateful to hear from you!
