Biologist
EBI is seeking a Biologist to support client projects in the West Region. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of environmental compliance documents, filings, and related permitting for projects primarily within, but not limited to, the wireless communications industry. The successful candidate will have a working understanding of the regulatory requirements of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Endangered Species Act, and other related federal and state regulations, and a real passion for Biological Assessments.
This position reports directly to the Technical Director, Biology, and is a work from home position with some infrequent on-site field requirements. To be considered, candidates must already be comfortable working from home and able to travel when necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project-specific data and regulatory research
- Desktop assessments and field surveys, including habitat evaluations, protected species and avian nest surveys, and wetlands delineations
- Consultation with local, state, and/or federal agencies
- Preparation of reports such as Biological Assessments, Environmental Assessments, and NEPA-related documentation, as well as permit applications
Qualifications and Capabilities:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology, Environmental Science with a concentration in Biology, or a closely related field (e.g. Natural Resource Management, Ecology, or similar)
- 2-5 years of professional experience in the environmental industry
- Wetland experience (delineation/permitting)
- Species/habitat surveys (completed in the field or desktop reviews for the presence/absence of protected species)
- Experience with submitting environmental permitting applications for federal or state agencies

The reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000.The salary range describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position across applicable US locations.This position may also be eligible for a bonus whereby total compensation may exceed base salary depending on individual performance.The actual compensation offered will be based on a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to; geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements, knowledge, skills/level, qualifications and budget.
