About the Role

ESAB Corporation Factory Service Engineer

Founded in 1904, ESAB Corporation is a premier, narrowly diversified global leader in connected fabrication technology and gas control solutions. Our rich history of innovation—spanning advanced products, workflow solutions, and our ESAB Business Excellence system—drives our purpose of Shaping the World We Imagine™.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Factory Service Engineer to join our Cutting Systems team.

Position Summary

The Factory Service Engineer is a hands-on, customer-focused technical expert responsible for supporting advanced thermal cutting systems, including CNC-controlled plasma and oxy-fuel equipment. Reporting to the Service Manager, NAM, this role plays a critical part in diagnosing complex system issues, improving equipment performance, and supporting customers and distributors worldwide. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on troubleshooting multi-disciplinary systems—combining mechanical, electrical, gas process, and CNC control technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical expert supporting global customers and distributors by troubleshooting CNC cutting systems, plasma cutting equipment, oxy-fuel systems, and motion control platforms via phone and remote tools
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to install, commission, repair, and optimize automated cutting systems
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving CNC software, HMIs, drives, motors, gantry systems, height control, and gas delivery systems
  • Deliver technical training programs in the field covering operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive reliability and performance improvements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to accuracy, consumable life, and efficiency
  • Make customer-focused service decisions to maintain strong relationships
  • Mentor and support service technicians
  • Participate in rotating after-hours support
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Experience with industrial automation, CNC systems, or thermal cutting technologies preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with PLCs, drives, or HMIs is a plus
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Bilingual skills highly desirable
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to travel as needed
Working Conditions
  • Occasional travel to customer sites
  • Industrial environment exposure
  • Rotating schedule with extended hours as needed
Success in This Role
  • Reduced downtime and improved reliability
  • High customer satisfaction
  • Effective resolution of complex issues
  • Contribution to product improvements

The ESAB Group Inc. is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability status, or any other applicable characteristics protected by law.

Pay Range: $77,157.00-$89,413.00
