About the Role

Business Leadership Program Internship

Synchrony's Business Leadership Program Summer Internship is a 10-week paid assignment in one of our 10 Tracks.During the summer, each BLP Intern is provided with project work that is important to our business, and we'll look to you to challenge usand contribute to driving innovation for our future.

Beyond the assignment, BLPs gain the full Synchrony Experience with an immersive orientation during Week 1, the Intern Summer Series to meet and network with leaders around the business, and ongoing support from a team and mentors who are invested in your success.

Finance BLP Internship Experience: What You'll Accomplish

This internship is for students who are looking to get a critical jump start on a career in Finance, working side by side with our experts in the function to gain valuable hands-on experience.

In the Finance BLP Internship, you will work side by side with finance professionals where you will apply your knowledge to challenging projects in:

  • Accounting
  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Forecasting
  • Treasury/Cash Management
  • Commercial Finance

These assignments offer an array of opportunities to gain valuable hands-on experience. Exposure to these finance projects will accelerate your career and develop your skills in a cutting-edge global environment.

What do we look for in all potential BLP Interns?

  • Ability to effectively work independently and within collaborative teams
  • Proven leadership both inside and beyond the classroom
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and passion for learning
  • Passion for excellence with high integrity and a commitment to quality
  • Relevant experience or demonstrated interest in area of work

Desired Characteristics for the Finance Track

  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical and problem solving skills; strong organizational skills
  • Passion for excellence with high integrity and commitment to quality

Basic Qualifications & Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Math or Economics
  • Excellent academic record – Minimum overall 3.0 GPA
  • Available for 10 consecutive weeks during Internship (June – August)
  • Must be able to work minimum of 40 hour week

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • Geographic mobility: Ability to relocate based on program or business direction
