Description
The Business Analyst I will work closely with the business and technical teams and is a major contributor to the requirements specification deliverable. This position is responsible for coordinating design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of corporate applications systems. This person understands how technology influences business decisions and ensures there is integration between business and technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs feasibility analysis, scopes projects, works with the project team to prioritize deliverables and negotiates on product functionalities.
Creates detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and translates them into functional specifications.
Builds and utilizes an understanding of business operations and needs.
Works with business product owners to maintain
Provides analytic support by coordinating data extraction from various databases and data interpretation.
Participates in Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Functionality Testing.
Monitors helpdesk ticket and IT request submissions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related area (Computer Science, Computer Information Services or Software Engineering) or equivalent industry experience.
Six Sigma and/or ITIL a plus.
Minimum 3 + years of experience working as a Data or Business Analyst.
Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel, Visio and MS Project.
Project management experience a plus.
Understands the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Highly analytical with solid problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service and presentation skills.
Genuine interest and a desire to learn new technologies.
Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
Completes all responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner in order to meet co-worker and client needs and remain cost effective.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to stand, walk, sit, speak, hear, see and use hands to handle objects.
