At Pallon, we are building smart software to automatically report defects in sewer inspection videos and consult cities when to fix them. With more accurate and objective data, we help to prevent wastewater leaks, reduce CO2 emissions, and avoid urban flooding. Ourmission is to make cities more sustainable and resilient.

The Role

As one of two people in our Business Operations team, you will have genuine ownership and responsibility across the financial operations of a growing 35-person technology company. Pallon is at the forefront of AI-driven sewer inspection, and as we scale across new markets, we need a meticulous and driven finance professional who is ready to grow with us.

Your Responsibilities
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Accruals and prepayments.
  • Manual Journal Entries.
  • Monthly reconciliation of account balances.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense claims accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with Customer Invoicing.
  • Ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements
  • Self-motivated and able to work efficiently independently and as a team.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • 3+ years experience in a finance or accounting position.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Keen to learn and develop.
  • Friendly, proactive and positive nature.

The following are not required for you to apply, however, they do add extra value:

  • Startup experience
  • German speaker
  • AAT Qualified or Part-Qualified CIMA or ACCA (QBE considered)
  • Experience with Xero
  • Experience with Customer Invoicing
  • Experience working in an SaaS environment
Benefits & Company Culture
  • Contribute to a positive impact on society and the environment
  • Work in a stimulating and fast-paced environment
  • Be part of a motivated, smart, fun and supportive team
  • Own a part of Pallon and have a part in our success with our Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP)
  • Work remotely or enjoy access to our beautiful office space located in Zürich.

Inclusion statement

At Pallon, we highly value equality of opportunity and inclusivity, and we would like to particularly encourage women and candidates from under-represented backgrounds to apply, even if you don't match with 100% of the requirements.
