About the Role

Senior Director Level Clinical Delivery Center Of Excellence (Coe)

The Senior Director level of Clinical Delivery Center of Excellence (CoE) is an experienced leader within the Clinical Delivery CoE, they are expected to leverage their leadership competencies, clinical delivery executionexperience and client relationships to drive both financial and operational delivery across a portfolio of studies.As a key leader/Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Clinical Delivery CoE, they are expected to proactively contribute to new business opportunities, leveraging their expertise toaid the growth of the clinical delivery growth within Fortrea.

In addition, they are expected to establish and develop strong client relationships and be seen as an industry leader internally by colleagues and peers and externally by clients.

Summary Of Responsibilities
  • Operational and Financial:
  • Responsible for the financial and operations oversight of clinical delivery across a portfolio of studies to ensure on time or early delivery, within or below budget while ensuring the highest level of quality.
  • Partner with Regional Heads within the Clinical Network to ensure appropriate resourcing and productivity levels within the portfolio of studies. Ensures that assigned clinical staff understand and perform consistently according to defined operational, financial, and quality performance and process standards.
  • Maximize contribution margin across clinical delivery through strong financial stewardship and accountability across the assigned portfolio of studies.
  • Uses established operational, financial and quality metrics and reporting dashboards to assess overall portfolio health and take action where necessary.
  • Participates in risk management activities across the assigned portfolio of studies to support the identification of potential risks to patient safety and data integrity.
  • Uses experience and lessons learned to ensure process improvements are implemented successfully across full service clinical delivery.
  • Leadership:
  • Drives and supports and facilitates a learning organization.
  • Engages with leadership to help drive and implement initiatives which aim to improve performance of the business, including cross TA and functional integrated initiatives.
  • Helps to define and implement the company and department vision and strategy; translates this into key initiatives and priorities; develops and delivers against company and department operating plans and project plans; able to achieve results in a global, virtual and complex environment; tracks and measures progress.
  • Partners with peers ensuring consistency (quality, standards, policies, processes and practices) across the portfolio.
  • Leads by example in building and sustaining a scalable organization; creates a forward looking culture of ownership and accountability; delegates for development and growth; identifies and sets up high performers for success; is self-aware and fosters a continuous learning environment.
  • Effectively leads and/or coordinates in a global, complex environment; sets clear expectations for colleagues; leverages experience to coach and mentor for success; consistently communicates and connects.
  • Attracts, selects, on-boards, develops and retains high performing talent; strengthens and deepens talent bench and succession planning.
  • Drives a disciplined and consistent approach to all areas of Clinical Delivery CoE, and applies quality management principles.
  • Acts as a role model and takes on mentorship responsibilities.
  • Commercial:
  • Utilizes a strong background across Clinical Delivery combined with an understanding of the changing landscape across the industry and within competitors to create differentiating clinical delivery strategies which for the clients, sites and patients.
  • Works in partnership with the Country Ambassadors to champion the country specific growth plans.
  • Contributes to the growth within the Fortrea.
  • Drives the adoption of novel clinical delivery models within Clinical Delivery CoE while ensuring financial viability.
  • Develop and fosters new and existing client relationships at senior operational levels with clients, sites, site partners, vendor partners etc., in partnership with the Clinical Network, guiding teams in delivering to and establish/maintain effective client relationships.
  • Supports high quality, strategically innovative price competitive clinical delivery strategies, including RFI response, proposal development, bid defense preparation.
  • Is an ambassador of the company.
Qualifications (Minimum Required)
  • Bachelor's degree.
Experience (Minimum Required)
  • 10 or more years of research and development and clinical research experience (pharmaceutical or biotech and CRO), including 6 or more years in Drug Delivery Project Management.
  • Broader level client relationships and business development experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical delivery experience.
  • Financial acumen in understanding and effectively contributing to a competitive study or program strategy which is profitable.
Preferred Qualifications Include
  • Advance degree, PhD and/or MBA.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and operate a vehicle safely.
  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
  • Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
  • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Varied hours may be required.
