We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Risk Manager. Reporting to the Managing Director, this full-time and permanent position is based in Luxembourg and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Operations and its' growth.
The Risk Officer supports the permanent risk management function under the direction of the Conducting Officer and contributes to the effective implementation and ongoing enhancement of the risk management framework for alternative investment funds across liquid and illiquid strategies.The role involves monitoring investment and operational risks, overseeing risk limits and controls, supporting regulatory and internal reporting obligations, including Annex IV reporting, and ensuring timely escalation of relevant risk matters where appropriate.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal IFM functions and external stakeholders, including valuation, portfolio management delegates, compliance, and oversight functions, to promote effective risk governance and transparent communication across the organisation.The position requires strong analytical and organisational capabilities, a good command of risk system applications and reporting tools, and a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset.The Risk Officer is expected to contribute actively to the continuous development and optimisation of risk processes and controls, demonstrating flexibility, collaboration, and clear communication skills in a dynamic environment.
Exposure to UCITS risk management frameworks would be considered an advantage.
Good knowledge of alternative investment fund risk management frameworks for liquid and illiquid strategies.Understanding of AIFMD regulatory requirements and Annex IV reporting obligations.Experience with risk monitoring tools, limit management systems, and risk reporting applications Knowledge of market, liquidity, counterparty, leverage, and operational risk measurement methodologies.Ability to analyse and interpret portfolio risk metrics and exposure reports.
Familiarity with data aggregation, reconciliation controls, and risk data quality processes Exposure to user acceptance testing (UAT) and enhancement of internally developed risk systems and reporting tools Good command of Excel and risk reporting tools; knowledge of Power BI, SQL, or data visualisation tools would be an advantage Understanding of fund structures, valuation processes, and delegated portfolio management oversight within an IFM/AIFM environment Ability to identify control gaps and contribute to process improvement initiatives in a regulated environment.
Minimum 3 year of experience and strong background in similar role managing risk for AIFs Demonstrated expertise in risk management system and reporting operations.
Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., GFR, FRM and CAIA) is a plus
