About the Role

JOB SUMMARY:  Under minimal supervision, responsible for developing applications and integrations using Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server platform. This includes reports, data warehousing, cubes, and other data related tasks.

70%      SQL-Transact, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)

10%      Data analysis using Excel or similar

10%      Maintain current programs

4%        Extract Transform Load (ETL)

4%        Troubleshoot and identify bugs and solutions.

  • Ensures confidentiality of patient information following HIPAA guidelines and TEC policies.
  • Attends training to meet requirements of the job position and as needed or mandated by TEC policies, Div. of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH), OSHA, L&I and other state/federal regulations.
  • Has regular and predictable attendance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Note that these requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this job.

Knowledge:

  • Transact-SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and required
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel including development of charts and pivot tables required
  • Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio desired
  • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL experience desired
  • Knowledge of Epic/Clarity data schema desired
  • Previous overall knowledge and experience working with healthcare-related systems is helpful
  • Working knowledge of workstation and network fundamentals and components.

Skills:

  • Strong SQL Programming skills including complex Stored Procedures, complex SQL queries, and user defined functions, Common Table Expressions and transaction management using best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to perform design and analysis of a project based on a given specification.

Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and establish priorities. 
  • Ability to work well with other team members, networking personnel, computer operators and clinical personnel.
  • Ability to think logically and communicate clearly both in writing and verbally. 
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time. 
  • Ability to function and contribute as a team player.

EducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Experience:   Minimum of five to ten years’ experience in program development in a time-critical environment using mainstream programming tools and methodologies.

Typical office conditions and noise level is usually quiet.  Interaction with others is moderate and occasionally interruptive.  Work may be demanding at times and may require ability to work irregular hours. Participate in On-call rotation.
