The Field Purchasing Manager is responsible for coordinating with site teams to ensure they have the proper personnel to perform site related procurement activities. Follows, develops, improves, and maintains processes and systems utilized by the company to perform site procurement related tasks and functions. Acts as a liaison between procurement team, internal customers, and accounting team to ensure that materials are properly received and invoices are paid in a timely manner. Supports annual and quarterly planning activities. Work collaboratively across the organization and actively support the company's values and beliefs.
Location: This position can be located at any of our office locations: Phoenix, AZ; Clinton, IN; Indianapolis, IN; Centennial, CO; Irving, TX; or Fargo, ND. Based on the experience and skillset of the individual identified, we are open to a remote-based role with ability to travel to our office and field site locations to support events or department activities.
Responsibilities: Essential Job Functions include promoting and complying with all Company safety policies and procedures, leading and mentoring a team of Field Buyers, forecasting and managing staffing requirements for field purchasing roles, conducting regular performance reviews, providing coaching, and fostering professional development opportunities within the team.
Other responsibilities include supporting the implementation of industry best practices, monitoring and improving processes and procedures for the proper execution, coordination, and payment of company contracts, providing contract negotiation guidance to buyers, supporting a procurement life cycle approach, driving and enforcing document control efforts, supporting Procurement's development of a robust requisition system, supporting the vendor prequalification and setup system, developing a system for tracking and monitoring compliance issues, providing training, mentoring and career development for the team, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education and Work Experience Requirements include an Associates or Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred, five+ years experience in purchasing or procurement, related to construction industry, previous experience with supply chain and inventory management, experience leading and managing others, and knowledge, skills and abilities required include taking reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety, strong knowledge of construction contract development, negotiation, and deployment, strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization and with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong knowledge and the ability to teach others use of procurement software systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, ability to interpret, follow and explain a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations, skilled in analyzing data and developing metrics that help the company in making informed decisions.
