Randstad Engineering Solutions is looking for a qualified CATIA designer to join our team. This is an opportunity to expand your knowledge in product development in a hands-on environment.
- Extensive 3D CAD modelling experience in CATIA V5- Ability to develop complex 3D CAD models/detailed drawings including rotating parts/assemblies
You will be expected to support the following with the help of the client:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering or related technical field is preferred but not required.- 3+ years of related engineering experience.- Relevant experience in Product Design.- Experience designing, releasing, and producing injection molded parts.- Knowledge of various additional manufacturing processes for high volume, repetitive assembly (to include but not limited to: die casting, blow molding, roto molding, stampings, laser cutting, sheet metal, weldments, powder metal).- Experience in writing parameters for assigned design projects including scheduling, cost data, serviceability and functional requirements.- Extensive 3D CAD modelling experience, CATIA V5.- Hands on experience working on robotics, automation, outdoor power equipment or other powered machinery preferred.- Design experience with high volume consumer products that perform a function preferred.- Ability to develop more complex 3D CAD modelling/technical drawings.- Basic knowledge of manufacturing operations.- Ability to gather and process data for root cause analyses.- Ability to travel to domestic and/or international sites.- Ability to be flexible and adaptive to internal processes and changes, delays or unexpected events.- Knowledge and understanding of FEA, DFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T for part design preferred.- Knowledge and/or experience with SmarTeam, HPM, PLM databases, and other software programs useful to engineering functions preferred.
