About the Role
This virtual Special Education Teacher position supports K-12 students across Kansas through remote instruction and IEP-based services. The role focuses on delivering specially designed instruction, managing compliance requirements, and collaborating with school teams to help students meet academic and behavioral goals in a virtual learning environment.
Responsibilities
Deliver virtual special education instruction aligned with student IEP goals
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
Collect and analyze student progress data to guide instructional decisions
Participate in virtual IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions
Support accommodations, modifications, and individualized learning plans
Requirements
Master's degree in Special Education or related field
Active Kansas Special Education teaching certification
School-based special education experience preferred
Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance requirements
Experience providing virtual or remote instruction preferred
Teaching certification may be required depending on district.
