About the Role
Accessibility Lead
This role sits at the intersection of product design, engineering, and user experience, with a mission to ensure digital products are accessible, inclusive, and compliant with global accessibility standards.You will lead accessibility strategy and execution across multiple product areas, embedding best practices throughout the full product lifecycle—from discovery and design through development, testing, and release.The position combines hands-on accessibility expertise with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and shape scalable organizational processes.You will conduct audits, guide remediation efforts, and help teams operationalize accessibility in day-to-day workflows.
In addition, you will partner closely with stakeholders across product, legal, engineering, and support functions to reduce risk and improve user experience for all audiences.This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in both strategic leadership and detailed execution within mission-driven digital environments.
Accountabilities:
Lead accessibility strategy across multiple products, ensuring accessibility is embedded across the entire product lifecycle including planning, design, development, testing, and release readiness. Translate requirements into actionable guidance for cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with product roadmaps and delivery priorities.
Conduct accessibility audits using manual, automated, and assistive technology testing methods, identifying issues and guiding teams through remediation, validation, and long-term prevention.
Establish and improve scalable accessibility processes, including documentation standards such as VPATs/ACRs, testing frameworks, acceptance criteria, and reusable design and engineering patterns.
Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, QA, and Legal teams to define accessibility requirements, assess risk, prioritize fixes, and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
Lead enablement efforts by developing training, documentation, and practical resources that help teams build and maintain accessible products independently.
Drive cross-functional coordination on remediation initiatives, supporting consistent tracking, ownership, and execution of accessibility improvements across teams and releases.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in digital accessibility or closely related roles in product, design, engineering, or UX environments.
Strong expertise in WCAG guidelines, accessibility standards, and practical application of accessibility principles in modern digital products.
Hands-on experience with accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies, with the ability to validate and troubleshoot accessibility issues directly.
Experience creating, maintaining, or contributing to accessibility documentation such as VPATs or ACRs.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and Engineering teams in agile or iterative environments.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions across technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-moving, cross-functional setting.
