Electrical Journeyman – Lead Commercial & Industrial Field Operations for Gillespie Electric

The Opportunity:
You will serve as an essential field mechanic, running project areas and directing small site crews under the guidance of a foreman. You will work independently from detailed blueprints on dynamic commercial, residential and industrial installations. This role gives you the platform to hone your technical expertise, mentor apprentices, and build a lasting career with a trusted industry leader.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Execute complex conduit bending, wire pulling, and MC cable installations per specifications.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, symbols, and wiring nomenclature accurately.
- Lead layout work and manage small crews on assigned project sections independently.
- Install distribution equipment, switches, receptacles, and commercial lighting fixtures.
- Perform system diagnostics and basic troubleshooting on your own field installations.
- Train and mentor apprentices and helpers to ensure quality work and safe practices.
- Maintain active communication with project foremen regarding task status and site material needs.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on commercial or industrial electrical experience.
- Proven proficiency in conduit bending, wire pulling, and layout work.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical blueprints and work without direct supervision.
- High school diploma or equivalent secondary education credential.
- Ownership of required hand tools and basic power tools for commercial work.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs or more
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to report to the assigned job site on time and maintain reliable attendance.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Completion of a formal Electrical Apprenticeship or Trade School Program.
- Valid State Journeyman License or Journeyman Card.
- Experience with low-voltage systems including fire alarm and communication wiring.
- OSHA 10 or 30
- Currently pursuing Foreman training or willing to complete the necessary training and development to advance into a Foreman role.
- Proficiency with Procore construction management software.
