The Opportunity
Hoogendoorn Construction is looking for dependable, versatile people who enjoy building, working with their hands, and learning multiple areas of commercial construction.
We intentionally use the title Commercial Construction Team Member because our field employees are not limited to one narrowly defined trade. Depending on your experience and the project, you may help with concrete, steel, precast, carpentry, equipment, site work, or other phases of commercial construction.
Whether you already have several years of construction experience or have strong mechanical, equipment, farming, or hands-on experience and want to build a long-term construction career, we want to hear from you.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Support commercial construction projects across multiple phases of work.
- Perform concrete, carpentry, steel, precast, site-work, material-handling, and general construction tasks based on your experience and project needs.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, equipment, and other jobsite tools appropriate to your experience.
- Load, unload, stage, and move construction materials.
- Work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, trenches, and other common commercial construction environments when required.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow company and jobsite safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Communicate safety concerns, material issues, or jobsite problems to the superintendent or crew lead.
- Work alongside experienced employees and continue developing skills across multiple areas of construction.
- Move between tasks and projects as needed to help the company maintain productive crews throughout the year.
What We Are Looking For
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn different areas of commercial construction.
- Ability to perform physical construction work safely.
- Comfort working indoors and outdoors in changing weather and jobsite conditions.
- Ability to work at heights, around equipment, and in other normal commercial construction environments.
- Willingness to travel to regional jobsites.
- Strong awareness of jobsite safety.
Experience That Can Be a Great Fit

- Commercial construction

- Steel or precast
- Equipment operation

Experienced multi-skilled commercial construction employees are especially valuable, but candidates with the right attitude, reliability, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
Growth Opportunity
Hoogendoorn Construction has historically developed many of its leaders from within.
Employees who demonstrate strong skills, reliability, teamwork, and leadership can take on increasing responsibility over time, including opportunities to become lead employees or superintendents.
We do not operate with rigid trade classifications. The more skills you develop and the more responsibility you can handle, the more opportunities you can create within the company.
