Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care team in San Marcos, TX. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient environment, treating a wide range of acute illnesses and minor injuries.
The ideal candidate will have previous urgent care experience and be comfortable evaluating and managing patients of all ages with varying levels of acuity.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries
Perform patient assessments, physical exams, and medical procedures as appropriate
Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
Perform common urgent care procedures including wound care, splinting, incision and drainage, and other minor procedures
Provide patient education and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinic staff to ensure high-quality patient care
Qualifications
Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
Previous urgent care experience required
Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Schedule & Compensation
3.5 shifts per week
Rotating weekend coverage
Competitive compensation based on experience
