About the Role

Account Manager - Broker

We're looking for an Account Manager - Broker to join our rapidly growing team. As the primary contact with our employer customers, the Account Manager uses data to understand Gravie's client needs and suggest strategic opportunities to inform renewals and growthopportunities. Building strong relationships based on a foundation of trust and expertise in health insurance and employer benefits is your specialty. You enjoy helping people find solutions and answers to their tough questions, and you can explain complex subjects to a variety of audiences.

You Will:

  • Work cross functionally with a dedicated Account Management team, including, underwriting, Sales, and leadership support to ensure proactive, end to end, and ongoing ownership and accountability for each client
  • Be well versed in client data and prepared to partner with clients on strategic recommendations to inform renewals and growth opportunities
  • Use data to develop strategic account plans for clients to evaluate business needs and, as needed, make recommendations for changes to Gravie's benefit solutions
  • Facilitate kick-off meetings with employers's populations, meet with clients regularly, and ensure you are providing accurate and timely answers to clients questions
  • Conduct monthly reviews of each client's claims experience, providing updates and recommendations for cost savings
  • Plan for and present quarterly progress reports on goals to the client and broker
  • Conduct proactive and data driven mid-Year Pulse Checks focused on intervention strategies, renewal planning, and performance optimization
  • Present strategic renewal proposals to clients and negotiate rates as needed, working directly with the Underwriting Team and leadership to ensure a successful renewal
  • Be knowledgeable about Gravies marketing campaigns in order to leverage accounts to strategically upsell Gravie products based on utilization
  • Be knowledgeable of all Gravie offerings and the regulatory and compliance requirements of each offering and continuously educate clients about Gravie's products and services
  • Ensure new employer clients have a smooth transition from sales and have a successful new client implementation experience
  • Research and resolve client issues and elevated member issues from Gravie's advisor team, ensuring resolution is taking in account the "full picture" of the client
  • Effectively use and document client information in our CRM system

You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relationship or account management field
  • Must be licensed in health insurance in your home state
  • 3+ years of account management experience in the health insurance industry
  • 2+ years experience using data to gain insights and make strategic recommendations
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment and comfort researching and solving problems with minimal guidance
  • 3+ years of experience working collaboratively across several teams and functions

Extra credit:

  • Previous start-up or emerging growth company experience
  • Experience with self-insured health plans
  • Experience establishing processes and standards for superior customer service

A Little More About Us:

  • We know healthcare. Our company was founded and is still led by industry veterans who have started and grown several market-leading companies in the space.
  • We have raised money from top tier investors who share the same long-term vision as we do of building an industry defining company that will endure over the long run. We are well capitalized.
  • Our clients love us. Customer satisfaction rates among employees using Gravie health plans consistently rank above 80% – nearly 40 points above the industry average.
  • Our culture is unique. We tend to be non-hierarchical, merit-driven, opinionated but kind people who thrive working in a high-performance, fast-paced environment. People at Gravie care deeply about making a positive impact in the lives of the people we serve. We may not be the right place for everybody, but if you get energized by doing work every day that focuses on putting consumers at the front of the line, we could be a great place for you. It takes unique people and diverse perspectives to deliver our results. We encourage you to be your authentic self – we like you that way.
