About the Role
Director of Program Management (Aerospace)
We are seeking an experienced Director of Program Management to lead complex aerospace and advanced manufacturing programs from proposal through production. This role serves as the primary interface between our global engineering and manufacturing teams and our customers, ensuring successful program execution, customer satisfaction, and profitable growth. The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing complex hardware programs for aerospace, rocket propulsion, defense, or advanced manufacturing customers and understands the complete product lifecycle—from proposal and contract award through manufacturing, qualification testing, and production ramp.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary client contact for assigned aerospace and advanced manufacturing programs.
Develop trusted customer relationships that create new business opportunities.
Lead programs from proposal, contract award, engineering, manufacturing, qualification testing, and production.
Develop and manage integrated program schedules aligned with customer milestones.
Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and supplier activities.
Ensure technical, quality, schedule, and contractual requirements are achieved.
Lead executive-level program reviews with customers and internal stakeholders.
Proactively identify program risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Manage contract scope, commercial changes, and customer expectations.
Oversee supplier and subcontractor performance.
Support production ramp, manufacturing readiness, and successful product delivery.
Ensure compliance with ITAR, export regulations, and customer requirements.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
PMP Certification.
7+ years leading aerospace or advanced manufacturing programs.
Experience working with off shore teams and clients
Experience managing complex hardware programs.
Experience working with aerospace OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
Strong customer-facing communication skills.
Experience managing production ramp and manufacturing scale-up.
Knowledge of engineering change management and contract execution.
Ability to travel up to 40%.
Must currently reside in the Seattle metropolitan area.
Preferred
Experience with rocket propulsion, space systems, defense, or advanced manufacturing.
Experience supporting Boeing, Blue Origin, SpaceX, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, RTX, or similar customers.
Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems.
Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM).
Compensation
Base Salary: $130,000–$150,000
