AVP Of Field Sales
The AVP of Field Sales is a senior sales leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, leading high-performing field sales teams, and executing go-to-market strategies across assigned regions or markets. This role partners cross-functionally to ensure alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and operational excellence.
The AVP will lead, coach, and develop sales leaders and frontline sellers while enhancing sales effectiveness, pipeline health, and customer engagement.
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute regional or national field sales strategies aligned with overall company objectives
- Drive revenue growth, market expansion, and customer acquisition across assigned territories
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer insights to inform sales initiatives
- Ensure accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and quota attainment
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Regional Sales Managers and frontline sales representatives
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and results
- Implement talent development plans, succession planning, and performance management processes
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top sales talent
Operational Excellence
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure sales performance and operational efficiency
- Partner with Sales Operations to optimize processes, tools, and CRM usage
- Drive adoption of standardized sales methodologies and best practices
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing strategies, and contract governance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing to align on demand generation and campaign effectiveness
- Collaborate with Product, Customer Success, and Operations to ensure seamless customer experience
- Provide field insights to inform product development and strategic planning
Customer & Market Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders
- Represent the organization in industry events, client meetings, and executive briefings
- Drive strategic account planning and expansion opportunities
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive sales experience, including 5+ years in sales leadership roles
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and growth targets
- Experience leading geographically dispersed field sales teams
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presence
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools
- Experience scaling sales teams in high-growth or transformation environments
- Travel required: 25-40%
