About the Role
Remote Manufacturing Engineer Remote Temp To Direct
Must have 5-10 years of electro-mechanical medical device and Minitab experience
Job description:
5-10+ years of engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment in a highly controlled, compliance-driven industry (experience in medical device products strongly preferred). Demonstrated expertise in process engineering within established production environments. Strong background in sustaining engineering and manufacturing support.
Duties:
Serve as the primary engineering escalation point for day-to-day production challenges, including yield variation, process deviations, and supplier-related nonconformances.
Drive data-based problem-solving initiatives to improve throughput, reduce scrap, and minimize rework.
Lead structured root cause investigations using methodologies such as DMAIC, 8D, A3, or similar frameworks.
Analyze process performance using statistical methods (Cp/Cpk, GR&R, trend analysis, regression, hypothesis testing).
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees
Proficiency with statistical software tools such as Minitab (or equivalent).
Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Commercial, and Customer-facing teams to address field issues, product performance concerns, and design-related feedback.
Strong understanding of process controls, inspection methods, and manufacturing documentation systems.
Experience contributing to risk management and design transfer activities (DFMEA, PFMEA, CTQ development).
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), including understanding of tolerance stack-up impacts and manufacturing trade-offs.
