About the Role

Director, Partnerships & Commercial Strategy

The Director, Partnerships & Commercial Strategy leads the Canadian Paralympic Committee's Partnerships and Business Development functions, driving revenue growth, strengthening partner value, and advancing CPC's strategic priorities through innovative commercial opportunities.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial & Impact Officer, the Director provides strategic leadership across partnership portfolio management, business development, and commercial strategy. This role leads a high-performing team responsible for delivering exceptional partner experiences, securing sustainable revenue growth, and maximizing the value of CPC's commercial assets.

The Director is also responsible for shaping CPC's commercial strategy and identifying opportunities that create value for athletes, partners, supporters, and the broader Paralympic Movement. Working collaboratively across CPC and the Paralympic Foundation of Canada, the Director helps transform strategic priorities into innovative initiatives that drive impact, engagement, and investment, creating opportunities for partners to directly enhance and amplify the Power of Para Sport.

Type: Full-time

Salary: $110,000-$145,000 annually plus benefits

Reports: Chief Commercial & Impact Officer

Location: Remote within Canada, with travel to CPC head office in Ottawa for occasional in-person meetings.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Commercial Strategy, Athlete Engagement & Strategic Initiatives
  • Team Leadership & Operations

Qualifications include:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in partnerships, sponsorship, business development, commercial strategy, or related disciplines.
  • Relevant post-secondary education and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing partnership portfolios, commercial growth, and strategic renewals.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience working with senior executives and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and project leadership abilities.
  • Experience developing athlete-centred commercial opportunities and working with athletes, athlete representatives, agents, or talent managers is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience developing commercial opportunities via social and digital platforms is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience developing, delivering, and measuring social impact programs, and applying social impact frameworks and theory of change, is considered a strong asset.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.

  • Overnight and international travel, as well as off-site work, will be required for Games, site visits, events, and meetings.
  • Evening and weekend work will be required during busy periods, including Games and other special events.
