Sederma SAS, a 174-person company belonging to the Croda Group, specializes in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of active ingredients for the cosmetic industry.Reporting to the Head of Biotechnology, we are looking for a full-time Research Manager in Microbial Biotechnology to participate in the development of new active ingredients derived from microbial biotechnology.
Your missions:
- Leadership of R&D Projects in Microbial Biotechnology:
- Lead research and development projects in microbial biotechnology, from upstream to downstream, in coordination with the involved teams (analytical, production, regulatory…)
- Define and propose the scientific and technical strategy of the projects
- Design and implement experimentation plans adapted to the scientific and industrial objectives
- Ensure project follow-up (progress, prioritization, reporting)
- Experimental Development and Scientific Analysis:
- Carry out experimental work related to the projects
- Develop, optimize, and validate experimental protocols
- Analyze, interpret, and synthesize experimental results
- Conduct scientific and technological surveillance in your field of expertise
- Identify and propose new research and innovation avenues
- Guarantee of Quality, Traceability, and Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the traceability and reliability of experimental data
- Apply and enforce Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in line with cosmetic regulatory requirements
- Contribute to the writing and updating of scientific and technical documents (protocols, reports, SOPs)
- Supervision and Knowledge Transfer:
- Supervise and support interns and/or apprentices
- Provide training for new arrivals
- Facilitate the sharing of knowledge and the development of team competencies
- Actively participate in the collective dynamic and scientific life of the laboratory
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an engineer with a minimum of a Bac +5 (or equivalent) in biotechnology, biology, or microbiology, with experience in applied or industrial research. You master the fundamentals of microbiology and are able to:
- Design and conduct experimental work
- Analyze and exploit scientific data
- Write clear and structured scientific analysis and synthesis reports
With a good analytical mind, you are rigorous, organized, and show good adaptability. You enjoy collaborative work, have good communication skills, and like to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural environments. Previous experience in leading R&D projects or in a regulated environment would be an asset.
