About the Role

Delta Tau Delta's mission, "Committed to Lives of Excellence," is what the Fraternity seeks to represent at its host institutions.Delta Tau Delta strives to develop its members' leadership skills, seeks superior academic achievement, promotes community service efforts, and helps its members launch successful careers.Founded in 1858 at Bethany College, in Bethany, W.Va., and now headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, Delta Tau Delta has 126 chapters and colonies in 39 states with a membership of more than 9,000 undergraduates and 120,000 living alumni.

The lifeblood of any Fraternity is the continual renewal of its undergraduate membership.The evolution of the collegiate experience requires our Fraternity to adapt and evolve as well.With that in mind, we are creating a new role focused on strategically energizing our growth efforts.The Director of Expansion and Retention manages all aspects of the Fraternity's expansion program as well as retention strategies.Essential Duties Chapter Expansion

  • Create a data-driven 5-year rolling expansion strategy with a blend of new universities and recolonizing dormant universities
  • In collaboration staff stakeholders, develop a comprehensive marketing and application strategy for the expansion program.
  • Create measurement systems to better understand results and create an environment of accountability and sustained success for expansions
  • Identify and maintain relationships with target colleges and universities to promote the opportunity for the Fraternity to establish local chapters.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Chapter Services and the Assistant Director of Officer Education, evaluate and continuously improve existing colonization programming and methods
  • Coordinate and communicate with the Fraternity's alumni volunteers on expansion prospecting and processes including recruiting local alumni support for expansion targets
  • Develop and manage budgets for all expansion projects.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Chapter Services, ensure the chapter consultant staff are prepared to execute local expansion activities
Chapter Retention
  • Develop and implement systems to track undergraduate retention, developing early warning systems for chapters facing retention issues.
  • In collaboration with Chapter Development and Education & Experience staff, develop retention strategies to be delivered in chapters
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including alumni volunteers and campus partners, to identify root causes of chapter retention concerns
  • Administer the Membership Impact Study and develop tools and resources for chapter leaders and volunteers to understand and utilize the results
  • Coordinate and maintain chapter health tracker to monitor chapter progress and support needs.
  • Provide coaching and resources to chapter stakeholders, including in person and virtual chapter visits as needed
Additional Duties
  • Serve on Enterprise-wide committees to support the mission, vision and strategic priorities of the organization
  • Travel to support enterprise conferences, trainings and workshop as needed
Job Requirements: (Education, experience, knowledge, skills, overtime, travel, licenses, etc.)
  • Member of Delta Tau Delta preferred membership in another fraternity/sorority required
  • Previous experience in corporate or non-profit talent acquisition or recruitment support strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience required
  • Experience crafting and managing a decentralized program with staff and volunteers
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, critical thinking skills, project management abilities, attention to detail, and facilitation abilities, curriculum/program development experience preferred.
  • Long-distance travel by car and airplane required.
  • Ability to multi-task while prioritizing deadlines and deliverables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook

Physical Effort: (Needed to perform job duties and responsibilities)

While performing the responsibilities of the Director of Growth, employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use hands and fingers to handle or feel. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
