CNC Mill Machinist

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist with experience in performing changeovers and short runs on Vertical Mills. This role involves programming G&M code, performing set-ups, and changing tooling while working primarily with aluminum and stainless materials. The position focuses on setting up programs and tool changes on the Mills for the Operators to run.

Responsibilities

• Set up jobs to meet production schedules.
• Ensure job set-up can meet quality requirements by producing acceptable first article runs.
• Perform special tasks as assigned.
• Make unassisted machine adjustments or offsets.
• Create fixtures and speed-up jobs by adjusting programs.
• Assist with machine breakdowns and repairs, troubleshooting as necessary.
• Communicate with production manager and scheduling for planning.
• Operate machines and assist with quality control duties as needed.
• Assist with training new set-up personnel.
• Monitor new tooling use to ensure proper speeds and feeds.
• Follow through with repairs when items are broken, finding alternatives if necessary.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience in a job shop environment with set-up experience.
• Proficiency in programming G&M code.
• Ability to perform set-ups and change tooling.
• Experience with Fanuc, Celos, G-code, and Mastercam.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Formal education or trade school is desirable.
• Experience with CNC, Mill, and Set up.
• Ability to edit programs in a job shop environment, preferably aerospace parts.

Work Environment

Work with advanced machines such as Mori, Kitamura, Doosan, and Haas. The role operates on the first shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Enjoy a structured work environment that focuses on quality production and efficiency.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oceanside, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
