About the Role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Account Director, Creative (Contingent) based in the United States.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead complex, high-impact communications and creative initiatives within a mission-driven environment focused on improving health outcomes for underserved populations. As an Account Director, you will oversee end-to-end strategy, planning, and execution of integrated marketing and communications programs for high-profile clients, primarily in the public and federal sectors. You will serve as a trusted advisor, guiding both clients and internal teams through multifaceted projects that span strategy, content, design, digital, and multimedia production. This position requires strong leadership, exceptional account management skills, and the ability to anticipate challenges while maintaining momentum across multiple workstreams. You will play a key role in shaping deliverables that are accessible, engaging, and aligned with strict federal standards. This is an ideal opportunity for a senior creative and communications leader who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced, and purpose-driven environments.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of complex integrated communications and creative strategies across multiple client accounts.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, ensuring alignment, clarity, and high-quality delivery across all workstreams.
  • Own accountability for large-scale projects from concept through execution, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and strategic objectives are met.
  • Anticipate risks, identify opportunities, and proactively recommend solutions to keep projects on track and maximize impact.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback to junior team members, supporting their professional development and performance.
  • Prioritize, delegate, and manage workloads across teams to ensure efficient execution and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate across strategy, content, design, digital, and multimedia teams to deliver cohesive, high-quality solutions.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, innovation, and overall team performance.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including new client opportunities and organic account growth.
  • Participate in hiring and onboarding efforts to strengthen team capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal accessibility and communication standards across digital and creative deliverables.
  • Influence decision-making and drive continuous improvement across accounts and internal processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, design, marketing, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in communications, marketing, PR, or creative account management roles.
  • Experience working in agency, consulting, or government-related environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong background in managing complex, multi-stakeholder client accounts and integrated campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic communications, digital, content development, or creative production.
  • Familiarity with federal accessibility standards for digital products is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and managing junior team members.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accountability.
  • Experience contributing to business development, proposals, or client growth initiatives is a plus.
  • Multimedia or video production experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
Benefits
  • Fully remote work model with occasional in-person collaboration opportunities.
  • Mission-driven environment focused on improving health outcomes for underserved populations.
  • Opportunity to lead high-impact, nationally significant communications programs.
  • Exposure to federal clients and large-scale public sector initiatives.
  • Collaborative, cross-disciplinary team environment including strategy, design, content, and digital experts.
  • Professional growth opportunities through leadership, mentoring, and business development involvement.
  • Structured collaboration days fostering creativity, innovation, and team connection.
  • Meaningful work aligned with public health and social impact objectives.
  • Inclusive and values-driven organizational culture.
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and role scope.
