About the Role
Electrical Engineer (Level III-IV) - Electromechanical Systems
Location: Atlanta, GA or Milwaukee, WI OR Remote with Industry Experience
Overview
Our client is seeking a senior-level Electrical Engineer - Electromechanical Systems to support complex automation and material-handling systems. This role focuses on low-voltage and controls-oriented electrical design, including sensors, power supplies, panel internals, and integration with PLC and mechanical systems. This position will play a critical role in scaling the organization's engineering capabilities.
Candidates from industrial automation, manufacturing, automotive, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or heavy manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Electromechanical System Design
Design low-voltage electrical systems including 24V/48VDC power, control circuits, sensors, actuators, safety devices, and I/O networks.
Engineer panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and terminal plans for automation equipment.
Integrate electrical designs with PLCs, HMIs, motion systems, servos, and VFDs.
Device Specification & Standards
Specify power supplies, I/O devices, sensors, relays, safety components, terminal blocks, and industrial networking hardware.
Develop and maintain customer-specific electrical standards for major enterprise clients.
Support AutoCAD Electrical development, including macros, libraries, and drawing automation.
Field & Commissioning Support
Support system installation and debugging on site.
Provide advanced troubleshooting on controls power, signal integrity, and device performance.
Produce redlines, as-builts, and final documentation.
Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with controls, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure complete system integration.
Mentor junior engineers and support peer technical reviews.
Participate in customer design reviews and technical discussions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Level III: 5-7 years of experience with automated material handling systems
Required Skills
Fluency in AutoCAD Electrical (technical testing required).
Strong experience with schematics, panel layouts, and low-voltage system design.
Familiarity with PLCs, industrial sensors, field devices, and power supplies.
Knowledge of UL, NEC, IEC, and NFPA standards.
Ability to travel 30%
