About the Role
Technical Building Equipment Engineer (HVAC)
Berlin or remote · Real Time Architecture Apply
All3 is transforming how buildings are conceived, developed, and delivered. We combine AI-powered design with robotic prefabrication and on-site assembly to build custom architecture at the cost and speed of mass production — unlocking even the most complex sites.
We're currently seeking a Technical Building Equipment Engineer (HVAC) to join our team, focused on developing high-performance heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for timber and hybrid construction projects. This role supports projects from early proposal stages through contract coordination, ensuring compliant, energy-efficient, and scalable HVAC solutions integrated into All3's design platform.
Responsibilities
Developing HVAC concepts and system designs as projects progress from proposal phase toward contract coordination;
Designing and coordinating heating, ventilation, cooling, and air distribution systems within timber and timber-hybrid building solutions;
Preparing and reviewing HVAC documentation required across German planning and permitting stages;
Ensuring HVAC system designs align with KfW40, DGNB, LEED, and QNG+ requirements;
Collaborating with architecture, structural engineering, sustainability, and product teams to integrate HVAC requirements early in the design process;
Evaluating feasibility, energy performance, and cost impacts of HVAC solutions to support project development decisions;
Using Revit and Autodesk tools to model, coordinate, and validate HVAC system layouts;
Supporting clients, partners, and internal teams with clear technical communication in both German and English;
Driving continuous improvement of energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC strategies for All3's platform.
Requirements
Professional experience in designing modern, energy-efficient HVAC systems, ideally within timber or timber-hybrid buildings;
Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field;
Strong knowledge of HVAC design standards, energy performance requirements, and sustainability frameworks including KfW40, DGNB, LEED, and QNG+;
Proficiency in Revit and Autodesk design tools for HVAC coordination and system development;
Understanding of German planning phases (HOAI 1-5) and the documentation required at each design stage;
Familiarity with low-carbon building systems, indoor climate strategies, and lifecycle performance considerations is an advantage;
Ability to work in both German and English in technical and collaborative settings.
Conditions
Chance to be a part of a large-scale project;
Team driven by impactful cause;
Remote format of work;
Flexible working schedule;
28 days of annual leave.
