About the Role

Adjunct Instructor – Performing Arts Administration: Fundamentals of Finance

The Chicago College of Performing Arts/Roosevelt University is seeking a part-time instructor to teach an online class, ARTM465 – Fundamentals of Finance – to graduate students in the Master's in Performing Arts Administration Program for the upcoming fall semester, 8/25/25 to 12/13/25.This class will be delivered fully online.There is no requirement for the instructor to be local.

Specific topics covered will be collaboratively decided upon by the faculty member and the Director of the Performing Arts Administration Program, but may include the following: financial planning and budgeting, cash flow projection, balance sheets, operating statements, non-profit finance vs. for profit finance, earned vs. contributed income, fixed vs. variable expense.

Job Duties

  • Online delivery of course material, including creating assignments and evaluation of students' work.
  • Clear and timely communication.
  • Timely submission of all grades.
  • Consistent usage of Roosevelt University email address (to be assigned upon onboarding).
  • Submission of a syllabus each semester (university-mandated template will be provided) documenting all class policies, expectations, procedures, and grading criteria.

Compensation is based on student enrollment and course hours determined. For courses that carry fewer or more than three credits, compensation will be prorated down or up accordingly.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required - Bachelor's degree. Substantial professional experience and documented success in finance at a performing arts organization.

Years of Experience Required - 2. Required Education - Bachelor's Degree. Certification/Licensure Required.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in marketing or a related field. University or college level teaching experience. Excellent interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions - Position is remote.
