We're partnering with the world's leading AI research labs to make cutting-edge language models smarter — and we need physicists to help. If you hold or are pursuing a Master's in Physics, this is a rare opportunity to apply your deep domain expertise to one of the most consequential technology challenges of our time.
You'll use your physics knowledge to design challenging problems, evaluate AI reasoning, and help build the benchmarks that shape how the next generation of AI understands the physical world.
No AI experience required. Just strong physics — and the ability to think rigorously.
Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
Design advanced physics problems spanning mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and more
Develop clear, rigorous, step-by-step solutions that test AI reasoning at undergraduate to graduate level
Evaluate AI-generated responses for scientific accuracy, logical consistency, and solution quality
Collaborate with researchers to refine benchmarks and push the boundaries of what AI can reason through
Provide structured written feedback that directly improves model performance
Who You Are
Currently pursuing or have completed a Master's degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across advanced physics domains
Able to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing
Detail-oriented with a rigorous approach to evaluating logic and accuracy
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously
No prior AI or data annotation experience required
Nice to Have
Experience with data annotation, evaluation, or quality assurance
Familiarity with large language models or AI benchmarking
Background spanning multiple physics subfields
Why Join Us
Work directly with industry-leading AI labs on projects at the frontier of AI development
Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, from anywhere
Your expertise has real impact: the problems you design and evaluate shape how AI reasons about the physical world
High autonomy contractor role with potential for ongoing project renewals
Join a global network of subject matter experts contributing to meaningful scientific AI work
