About the Role
Who They Are We are working with a $100M business unit of a $1.5B manufacturer in the commercial building product space that is a top-3 company in the industry. They are highly innovative, growing extremely quickly, and looking to add an additional Structural Engineer to support their operations in Northern Indiana due to increased demand.
What You'll Do
Develop safe and economical structures that fulfill project requirements while adhering to industry codes and standards
Use proprietary software for frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis to ensure structural integrity and performance
Work closely with other departments and team members to communicate design requirements effectively and ensure seamless project execution
Review and check structural drawings for accuracy
What You'll Need
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited school.
Proficient verbal and written communication in the English language.
Strong knowledge of structural building codes: IBC, AISC 360, AISC 341, AISC 358, ASCE7, AISI, etc.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in the United States with the ability to be licensed in other states as needed.
Resides within the continental United States, availability as followed:
Minimum 8 consecutive hours
Available from 9 am to 3 pm CST
Ability to travel to home division or job sites as needed. (<10% travel)
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (current or future visa sponsorship is not available)
A background in Engineering in the Pre-Engineered Metal Building Industry is strongly preferred
Proficiency with some type of metal building design software package is strongly preferred
Residence within the Midwest is preferred
