About the Role

Director Power Generation Origination

About WattBridge

The global energy landscape is rapidly changing, and we're here to accelerate that change. From the decommissioning of high-carbon power assets, accelerated expansion of renewable energy resources as baseload power,to the advent of the prosumer. The volatility on today's energy grid has never been greater. WattBridge was conceived by power industry experts to enable the sustained integration of highly efficient, reduced carbon dispatchable power generation assets on our national energy grid.

Our Footprint

We are primed for the Energy Transition with permanent service locations in Missouri, Texas, and Argentina. Our world-class Missouri headquarters is purpose-built to meet peaking-power needs. It sits on 90 acres in Sedalia and features more than 900,000 sq. ft of facilities and equipment, including the only independent Level-IV aeroderivative depot in North America and a hydrogen-ready string-test facility that enables full-speed, full-load testing. Our Houston, Texas, office is a strategic satellite positioned near our own peaking-power installations.

Our Philosophy

We take care of our people and strive to make a positive difference for the world. We offer competitive pay, excellent benefits that include Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life/Disability Insurance at minimal cost to the employee, 10 paid holidays, paid time off and a 401K plan. If you are looking for a rewarding career and possess the specialized knowledge and quality-oriented problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply today.

Position Summary

WattBridge, the world's preeminent LM6000 delivery platform, is seeking a Director of Power Generation Origination to lead long term offtaker efforts for our full power delivery platform focused on Data Center Campus style development. WattBridge developed, financed, built, owned and operated the world's largest LM6000 portfolio consisting of 2400 MW's from 2019 thru 2026. The platform raised over $2BN in capital and is now partnered with Energy Capital Partners as our majority sponsor. With competitive advantages in secured power equipment as an OEM, a proven track record in building out a 2400 MW portfolio, and a fully vertically integrated execution platform, we are well positioned to be highly successful in the data center industry.

The primary focus of this role is on all aspects of deal origination (i.e. PPA, Toll) supporting the development of a large-scale natural gas generation development with co-located data center projects with microgrid solutions. As a key member of WattBridge's team, you will report to the Head of Commercial and work alongside senior leaders at the company to advance commercialization of the existing project portfolio as well as new prospects

  • Work with legal, structured finance and other internal stakeholders to negotiate heads of terms and PPA contracts
Required Qualifications
  • Preferred Bachelor's or advanced degree in business or engineering
  • Comprehensive knowledge and proven track record of existing relationships with high load demand end users and in particular hyper scalers and data center owner / operators
  • To identify the largest number of viable opportunities you must leverage your network of contacts, maintain a good reputation in the industry and have established yourself as a reliable offtake counterparty
  • Multiyear experience of negotiating Power Purchase Agreements in our preferred markets
  • Experience presenting at many levels including internal and external stakeholders and speaking at events
  • Knowledge and contacts across market segments including utilities, coops, munis, public power, government, corporate and growing commercial, hyperscalers, data centers and industrial segments
