With experts located throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, NewZealand, the United Kingdom, and South Africa, we form long-lasting partnerships with our clients through a culture of excellence, innovation, work ethic, and integrity. We focus on hiring and retaining talented, motivated people who enjoy collaborating with and delivering value to our clients. Our team does more than identify problems—we provide solutions.

Location: Remote (Western Australia)

Description: The successful candidate for this position will provide technical support to a diverse range of projects in service areas that include environmental site assessments, remediation, management system development, compliance and sustainability. This will involve work for clients across multiple sectors, including oil and gas, chemical and heavy industry, water resources and others.

The position is primarily a home-office-based position, with periodic fieldwork required. This may involve extended (e.g. two-week trips) to regional areas of Australia. Project work is primarily based in Australia, but there may be opportunities to support projects in the United States and other international locations. The preferred location for this position is Perth/Fremantle, Western Australia, although other locations will be considered.

Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Management, analysis and presentation of environmental investigation, monitoring and remediation operations data, including groundwater, surface water, soil, recovery and other types of data
  • Desktop data gathering and compilation
  • Background reviews of technical guidance, regulations and case studies
  • Assistance with reporting and preparation of other written deliverables, including: monitoring reports, environmental site assessments, work plans, health and safety plans, proposals, estimated rehabilitation costing, plan of operations, and annual returns
  • Implementation of environmental field inspection and monitoring programs, including groundwater and surface water monitoring and soil sampling
  • Supervision of subcontractors in the field (e.g. drilling supervision, excavation supervision)
  • Project and task management – planning and implementation of scope, schedule, budgets

Position Requirements:

This opportunity is for an adaptable, self-motivated individual who desires to gain experience and professional growth across a diverse range of projects. Traits required for success in our team include:

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills, with an attention to detail
  • Effective technical writing and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to think strategically and conceptually and translate strategy into practical and tactical plans
  • Ability to work independently, whilst seeking support from other practitioners at key points
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and internal clients
  • Appreciation and conscientious application of health, safety and environment standards.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in soil science, hydrogeology, geology, environmental science, environmental engineering or other relevant science/engineering degree.
  • Three to five years of experience in a relevant environmental role, including training and experience in groundwater and soil sampling.
  • A well-developed understanding of environmental and resource regulations (with a focus on W.A. preferred).
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel (experience with Power BI and other database management experience is preferred, but not essential)
  • Australian experience and a current ability to work in Australia (citizenship or valid visa) is required
  • Current Australian state driving license preferred.
