With a commitment to personalized attention through a low faculty to student ratio, SJU may call on the expertise of adjunct instructors to complement the work of full-time faculty across all of its colleges and schools.SJU appoints part-time, non-tenure track adjunct instructors on a semester-to-semester basis with no guarantee of consecutive appointments.Re-appointment is based on university need, student enrollment, and satisfactory performance.Applicants for these positions are screened on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.Teaching responsibilities are assigned by the department chair.

- Provide support and guidance to students
- Instruct an assigned course providing syllabi and other instructional materials
- Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction
- Adjunct/affiliate faculty are expected to teach a specified online course(s)
- Prepare course materials; provide support and guidance to students; and report grades.
Minimum Requirements - Required qualifications include a doctoral Degree in social work or closely related majors or a master's degree and unique or outstanding expertise in counseling.
Physical and Other Requirements - May require standing for long periods of time
- May require talking for long periods of time
- May require carrying course materials
- Many classes are held online during evening hours 5:30 - 9:30 PM (EST).
