About the Role

Adjunct Instructors for MA Forensic Psychology Department

Founded in 1979, The Chicago School is an independent professional graduate school with a dynamic student body and a professionally accomplished faculty. Our curriculum and training opportunities prepare graduates to deliver outstanding professional services emphasizing the ability to understand and work with diverse populations.

The MA Forensic Psychology Department at The Chicago School is seeking several highly qualified adjunct instructors to join our diverse faculty at our Online Campus. We are seeking instructors to teach the following graduate level courses:

  • Core courses related to Theories and Practice: Ethics, Psychopathology, Human Growth and Development, Theories of Counseling, Helping Relationships, Family Systems, Group Processes, Assessment in Counseling, Assessment and Treatment of Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders.
  • Research Methods
  • Biological Bases of Behavior and Psychopharmacology
  • Various forensic psychology related courses

Principal Duties:

  • Teach courses as assigned, engage with students in deeper understanding and application of the material, and facilitate peer collaboration among students
  • Advise students on course content, professional comportment, and career options
  • Meet regularly with students to increase maximize engagement and increase retention
  • Link students to University resources
  • Document student progress
  • Adhere to expectations and guidelines determined by the department chair
  • Complete Term Prep Checklist for each course

Position Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in related field
  • Evidence of exemplary teaching experience (3 years preferred)
  • Relevant, professional experience in the field and current licensure/certification, where applicable
  • Commitment to academic excellence, service to the community, research, and diversity, equity and inclusion
  • TCSPP training in online pedagogy (TOPS) or equivalent experience (approved by campus dean).
  • Scholarship and regular community service desired
