Monitor American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials Ware Construction and Source Books for completeness of entries by field Inspectors.Audit review and processing of project change orders, progress pay estimates, and Subcontracts to comply with Department of Transportation and Federal specification/guidelines.This position will assist in processing final documents as well as help verify documentations for completeness and ensure all contractual guidelines have been met for the Audit section and New Mexico Department of Transportation.Monitor software B2GNow and LCPTracker for compliance.Who are the customers?
District office, Project Offices, Contractors, Construction Bureau and Federal Highway.Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will have the following experience: Experience in the use of computers and software not specific to the New Mexico Department of Transportation Experience in office procedures Experience to accurately verify computations Experience in accurately maintain files either on a computer (electronic) or in a filing cabinet Experience in clear and concise Communication whether written or verbal Minimum Qualification High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of relevant experience.
Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License.Employment requires successful completion of a pre-employment physical exam and is conditional pending results.Business reference check and driver's license verification are required and employment is conditional pending results.
May require Technician Training Certification Program (TTCP) certificates within one year of hire to include but not limited to; Nuclear Densometer, Concrete Field and Lab Testing, Aggregate, Soils, Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), Traffic Control and SWPPP.Working Conditions Work is performed primarily in the field in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, wind, rain and snow.
May include exposure to: sunlight, dust, pollen, chemicals, rough/rugged terrain, insects and reptiles, noxious plants and infected trash; moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, toxic fumes/chemicals and/or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, high speed/high volume traffic and loud noises, and confined spaces; falls and bruises, considerable physical strain; standing for extended periods of time doing traffic control or walking long distances.
Hand dexterity required for some duties; numerous specific vision abilities to include: close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus; some climbing, reaching, kneeling and crawling to perform job duties; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Work may also be performed in an office setting with exposure to visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage to include working with faxes, copiers and printers.May be required to work irregular hours and is subject to call outs for emergencies.
