About the Role

Head Of Global Business Development

OWNY Inc. is an innovative financial technology company that bridges the gap between emerging markets and the global financial ecosystem. Specializing in providing correspondent banking services, seamless cross-border transactions, foreign exchange, and secure payment gateways, OWNY empowers small and medium-sized banks in emerging markets with cutting-edge solutions. Our mission is to enable financial institutions to thrive in a complex global landscape by offering them the tools they need for efficient, secure, and cost-effective operations.

We are seeking a visionary Head of Global Business Development to launch our Global Banking Services product. In this high-impact role, you will drive the strategy and execution of initiatives designed to expand OWNY's services to small and medium-sized banks in emerging markets. You will focus on building long-term relationships with these financial institutions, helping them access correspondent banking services, foreign exchange rails, and payment gateways to better serve their clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic planning & development
    • Develop and implement a global strategy to drive the expansion of OWNY's banking services in emerging markets, with an initial focus on regions such as Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia.
    • Identify new market opportunities by understanding regional dynamics, competitive landscapes, and evolving banking needs.
    • Create and execute tailored outreach strategies to connect with key decision-makers at banks, positioning OWNY as their go-to partner for global banking services.
  • Partnership acquisition & onboarding
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with small and medium-sized banks, understanding their pain points and offering bespoke solutions in correspondent banking, foreign exchange, and payment gateways.
    • Lead contract negotiations and structure mutually beneficial partnerships to drive sustained business growth.
    • Oversee the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring seamless integration of OWNY's services into clients' operations while aligning with regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Market intelligence & insights
    • Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments in emerging markets to ensure OWNY remains ahead of the curve.
    • Conduct thorough market research to identify key areas for growth and partnership opportunities, keeping the business development strategy agile and data-driven.
  • Cross-functional collaboration
    • Partner closely with internal teams including product development, compliance, and operations to ensure the solutions meet local needs and regulatory requirements.
    • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to refine and customize our offerings, ensuring optimal product-market fit.
  • Performance tracking & reporting
    • Set clear KPIs for business development efforts, tracking progress towards market penetration, revenue generation, and partnership success.
    • Provide regular performance updates to senior leadership, offering strategic recommendations based on market trends and partnership feedback.

Qualifications include:

  • Experience
    • 10+ years of proven experience in global business development, partnership building, or sales within the banking or financial services sector.
    • Strong track record of successfully expanding services to small and medium-sized banks in emerging markets, particularly in areas such as correspondent banking, foreign exchange, and payments.
    • Experience working with financial institutions in diverse regions and a deep understanding of their unique challenges.
  • Skills
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with C-suite executives and key stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to think strategically and solve complex problems in a rapidly changing, global environment.
    • Strong knowledge of international banking regulations, compliance standards, and market entry strategies in emerging markets.
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.

What we offer includes:

  • A dynamic, collaborative, and inclusive work culture where innovation thrives.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for growth and leadership in a rapidly expanding global company.
  • A chance to shape the future of global banking services and help emerging market banks unlock new opportunities.

How to apply:

Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a resume and cover letter outlining their qualifications and interest in the role. We look forward to learning how your experience and vision can drive OWNY's growth and impact in global banking services.
