About the Role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Field Service Engineer based in the United States.

This role places you at the intersection of advanced life sciences technology and hands-on customer support. You will work with cutting-edge, automated, and AI-enabled laboratory systems that enable researchers to accelerate scientific discovery. Acting as a key technical expert in the field, you will ensure instruments operate at peak performance across academic, biotech, pharmaceutical, and government environments. You will build strong relationships with customers while delivering responsive, high-quality service. The role offers significant autonomy, frequent field engagement, and exposure to diverse scientific applications. It is ideal for a technically skilled professional who thrives in dynamic, customer-facing environments and wants to directly support innovation in research and diagnostics.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical service and ensuring optimal performance of scientific instruments across customer sites.
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with external customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring consistent communication and high satisfaction levels
  • Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of a diverse portfolio of laboratory equipment
  • Diagnose technical issues efficiently and implement effective, timely solutions in the field
  • Identify and propose process improvements to enhance service efficiency and customer experience
  • Ensure accurate documentation of service activities, issues, and resolutions in relevant systems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to escalate and resolve complex technical challenges when required
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings a blend of technical expertise, field service experience, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Associate degree in a technical field with 2-3 years of field service experience, or equivalent hands-on industry experience (trade school or high school diploma considered)
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and equipment repair skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
  • Ability to travel extensively across assigned regions, including up to 50% overnight travel
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move equipment and tools up to 50 lbs
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, biology, or related discipline is a plus, as is prior customer-facing and multi-product portfolio experience
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $41.00 to $44.00 per hour
  • Eligibility for bonus and incentive pay
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Flexible remote work arrangement for eligible field-based roles
  • Career development opportunities within a global life sciences environment
