About the Role

Job Summary Medical Physicist - North Carolina - Radiation Therapy - Interesting opportunity A healthcare organisation is seeking a Medical Physicist to provide essential support within its Radiation Therapy Department, caring for adult and geriatric patient populations.This position follows all population-specific guidelines and National Patient Safety Goals, with a strong emphasis on safe, accurate, and high-quality clinical practice.The ideal candidate brings solid technical expertise across a range of treatment technologies, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Key Responsibilities: Radiation SafetyDevelop, implement, and maintain radiation safety protocols.

Oversee equipment calibration, performance, and maintenance.Monitor radiation exposure levels to protect patients and staff.Treatment Planning & Delivery, Support treatment planning processes and participate in accurate treatment delivery.Perform dose calculations and ensure precision in all clinical treatments.Quality Assurance, Conduct routine and advanced QA on imaging and radiation therapy equipment.Ensure all systems comply with clinical, regulatory, and safety standards.Collaboration & Clinical SupportWork closely with clinical teams, including physicians, dosimetrists, and therapists.Provide expert physics consultation during treatment planning and clinical decision-making .

Research & Technology DevelopmentParticipate in research initiatives and contribute to the evaluation of emerging technologies.Engage in vendor demonstrations and support the integration of new equipment or techniques.Education & TrainingTrain and educate clinical staff on radiation safety, equipment use, and physics principles.Support ongoing learning and competency development within the department.Requirements: Licensure & Certification: board-certified or board-eligible in Medical Physics.Education: Master's degree in Medical Physics or related field.Bachelor's degree plus a Master of Science in Medical Physics or equivalent.

Completion of an accredited Medical Physics Residency Program.Experience: Residency completion with clinical experience appropriate for board-eligible or newly board-certified candidates.Compensation & Benefits Salary: $160,000-$250,000 Bonus: $10,000 sign-on and/or relocation bonus Certification Support: Full coverage of board exam costs for eligible candidates
