About the Role

Adjunct, Computer Science

Saint Joseph's University's Department of Computer Science has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester. We are looking for the support of highly qualified, capable, and experienced adjunct instructors. Presently, there is a specific need for faculty to teach Introductory Programming (Java and Python), Computer Architecture, Internet Application Development, and Algorithms.

Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an "as needed" basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and evening.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and guidance to students
  • Instruct an assigned course providing syllabi and other instructional materials
  • Use of university learning management systems to deliver instruction
  • Teaching of a specified course
  • Preparation of materials
  • Grade reporting and assessment
  • In addition to meeting all scheduled class sessions, adjunct faculty are expected to offer one hour of office hours per week.
  • Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, or a closely related field. Previous teaching/training experience.
