This is a Part-time Curriculum Development position and receives $35 per hour for 40 hours.
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Curriculum Development is responsible for designing, developing, and deploying high-quality asynchronous or hybrid courses for St.Johns River State College.This role includes curriculum planning, instructional content development, assessment design, and integration of course materials into the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).The SME will ensure course alignment with student learning outcomes, accessibility standards, and institutional quality requirements.
Courses to Be Developed SWS 2000 – Introduction to Soil Science About the College SJR State is a public college located in beautiful northeast Florida along the shores of the St.Johns River.With three campuses in Clay, Putnam, and St.Johns counties, SJR State serves nearly 10,000 students each year from among a population base of 600,000 in one of the fastest-growing areas of the country.Known for its natural beauty and quality of life, SJR State's service area includes St.
Augustine, the nation's oldest city; Palatka, the "Gem City of the St.Johns;" and Orange Park, with roots going back to the Spanish period in Florida history.

Minimum Qualifications Experience in instruction, online teaching, curriculum development, or agricultural industry training required Subject matter expertise in soil science required Experience using Canvas or a comparable LMS preferred Ability to complete assigned course development projects within established timelines Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of soil science principles and practices Knowledge of instructional design principles and online learning pedagogy Knowledge of Canvas or comparable Learning Management Systems Ability to develop engaging asynchronous or hybrid course content Ability to align course materials with learning outcomes and assessment standards Strong written communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines Knowledge of accessibility standards and online course quality practices Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and academic leadership
