About the Role

Head Of Finance & Strategy

Autonomize AI | Austin, TX (Remote-Flexible)

Autonomize AI is revolutionizing healthcare by streamlining knowledge workflows with AI. We reduce administrative burdens and elevate outcomes, empowering professionals to focus on what truly matters — improving lives. We're growing fast and looking for bold, driven teammates to join us.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a strategic and commercially-minded Head of Finance & Strategy to shape the financial and strategic direction of Autonomize AI as we scale. This is a high-impact role for a sharp operator who excels at turning ambiguity into clarity, complex data into decisive action, and bold ideas into executable plans. You'll be a core member of the leadership team — on the path to CFO — partnering directly with the CEO, COO, and Board to drive our long-term vision, capital strategy, pricing, and competitive positioning.

Beyond the numbers, you'll be a strategic thought partner who helps define where we play and how we win.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Finance & Planning: Own budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling across all functions. Drive long-range financial planning that aligns capital deployment with strategic priorities.
  • Business Strategy, Competitive Positioning & Distribution Partnerships: Partner with the CEO and leadership team to evaluate market opportunities, build business cases, and translate strategic bets into financial frameworks and operating plans. Identify, structure, and evaluate distribution partnership opportunities — including channel partners, resellers, and strategic alliances — that accelerate market reach and drive scalable, capital-efficient growth.
  • Capital Strategy & Pricing: Design and evaluate pricing models, customer economics, and resource allocation strategies to maximize long-term enterprise value and competitive differentiation.
  • Investor Relations & Board Engagement: Lead board materials, manage investor updates, and work closely with the CEO on fundraising narratives, due diligence, and strategic finance.
  • Operational & Performance Excellence: Establish OKR frameworks, KPI dashboards, and cross-functional operating rhythms that keep the company aligned, accountable, and moving fast.
  • Accounting, Compliance & Vendor Oversight: Partner with external firms to ensure timely close, compliance, and accurate reporting across payroll, taxes, and audits.
What We're Looking For
  • 8+ years in Finance & Strategy roles, with 2–3+ years in a Series A–C VC-backed startup or high-growth tech company.
  • Strong financial modeling, capital allocation, and strategic analysis skills, with experience building financial processes from scratch.
  • Proven experience in corporate strategy, market analysis, or business development — you think beyond the spreadsheet.
  • Board & investor communication experience, including leading board decks, metrics reviews, and fundraising materials.
  • Operational mindset with experience implementing OKR frameworks, dashboards, and systems (e.g., Rippling, ERP, HubSpot, SaaS billing platforms).
  • Collaborative leadership and bias for action, aligned with Autonomize's cultural values: full-stack ownership, customer obsession, and operating in the final mile.
What We Offer
  • A chance to make a real impact in the future of healthcare
  • Autonomy, ownership, and the ability to chart your own growth path
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • 100% employer-paid health, vision, and dental insurance
  • Retirement plans (401k), disability insurance, and employee assistance programs
