About the Role

Service Engineer

International Field Service Engineer Location Remote – anywhere in Europe, preferably close to an international airport

Job Summary For our Engineered Centrifugal Compression Systems business, we are looking for an International Field Service Engineer. The role is responsible for performing all phases of field service work on centrifugal compressors and related auxiliary systems (1,000 HP to 22,000 HP), including installation, start-up, troubleshooting, maintenance, and major repairs. The equipment is highly customized and technically advanced, requiring the ability to work across multiple models, configurations, and applications. The prime territory is EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) and the position requires extensive international travel.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the installation and start-up of new centrifugal compressor equipment at customer sites.
  • Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, and major repairs on compressors and related microprocessor-based control systems.
  • Ensure proper installation, operation, and field repair of equipment manufactured and sold by Compression Systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and field repair procedures for all relevant equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to customers, prospects, field sales teams and service trainees.
  • Prepare and submit detailed and accurate technical service reports for each intervention, suitable for customers, billing, engineering, quality, and marketing documentation.
  • Manage travel and business-related expenses in a cost-efficient manner, maintaining proper financial records.
  • Follow all company guidelines, safety standards, and best practices while representing the company at customer sites.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Technical diploma or equivalent mechanical engineering schooling (minimum 2 years) and/or substantial hands-on mechanical experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with rotating machinery; experience with compressors is an advantage.
  • Previous field service experience is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • High willingness to travel internationally for extended periods; prior extensive travel experience preferred.
