This company is committed to owning the full stack, ensuring a seamless experience through vertical integration of hardware and software.
What You Will Do
Lead hardware engineering efforts across Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Compliance from concept through launch.
Manage the full lifecycle of new product introduction (NPI) projects, focusing on PCBAs, plastics, batteries, haptics, wireless components, and test fixtures.
Oversee hardware builds from early prototypes through Design Verification Testing (DVT), providing hands-on support at manufacturing sites.
Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Industrial Design, and Product Management teams.
Manage supplier timelines and component development workflows, ensuring adherence to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Excellence (DFX) principles.
Drive execution across multiple parallel workstreams while upholding technical excellence and quality standards.
Communicate project status and influence strategic decisions at the executive level.
Ideal Candidate Background
Proven experience in shipping at least one consumer or commercial hardware product from concept to mass production.
Previous leadership experience as a technical lead, engineering manager, or hardware project manager is highly desirable.
Strong ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and translate complex challenges into actionable plans.
Hands-on experience with hardware development, including a passion for tinkering and problem-solving.
A mindset geared towards creating consumer-centric products that people will love.
Preferred
Familiarity with managing supplier relationships and component development workflows.
Experience in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and resourcefulness.
Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements related to hardware engineering.
