Ohio University is seeking a relationship driven professional to serve as a Regional Recruitment Manager (RRM), supporting undergraduate recruitment and enrollment goals in Southwest Ohio. This position will guide prospective students and families through theadmissions process, applying strong knowledge of academic programs, policies, and student services to support informed decision making. Through strategic outreach, personalized engagement, and thoughtful territory management, the RRM plays an important role in shaping enrollment outcomes and strengthening OHIO's presence in the region.
Based in the Cincinnati area, the RRM will plan and execute recruitment activities for assigned territories, including travel, outreach, and engagement initiatives. The position will represent Ohio University at high impact events, build and maintain relationships with students, families, school counselors, and community partners, and communicate OHIO's strengths through clear, student centered messaging. In addition to evaluating applications and contributing to admission decisions, the position will help ensure a consistent and student focused review process.
This role leverages recruitment and enrollment data to refine outreach strategies, contributes to team initiatives, and collaborates closely with colleagues across Undergraduate Admissions. The Regional Recruitment Manager position is ideal for a motivated, people centered professional who thrives in a fast paced environment, enjoys balancing independent work with collaboration, and is committed to supporting students as they navigate their educational pathways.
Recruits, evaluates, and participates in the selection of candidates for University admission. Coordinates with all internal departments, external organizations, and individuals involved in the admissions process. Advises applicants and parents about educational planning. Ensures the effective and compliant processing of student applications.
Manages and resolves complex and ambiguous issues. Works on both strategic and operational challenges, addressing problems that require advanced knowledge and experience. Often takes on leadership roles in projects or initiatives.
Provides mentorship and guidance to team. Infrequently has a limited number of direct reports.
May have budgetary responsibility for small-scale projects or initiatives.
Solves complex problems, often with limited guidance.
Works independently; seeks guidance for unusual situations.
Collaborates with team members and external departments. May represent the team in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Significant travel, including some overnights and weekends, within assigned territory is required. Travel to Ohio University for training, on-campus events, and collaboration with admissions staff and university colleagues is also expected. Must be able to travel independently.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.Candidates with a master's degree are strongly preferred.Preference given to candidates living in the Cincinnati, Ohio metro area.Previous experience in college admissions, academic advising in higher education, college student personnel, or counseling or teaching in secondary schools; demonstrated interpersonal and written communication and public speaking skills.Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.Ability to work collaboratively.Data analysis experience.
The incumbent is able to represent the University in a professional and positive manner and abide by the National Association for College Admission Counseling's Guide to Ethical Practice in College Admission.Ability to travel independently including overnight and internationally.Ability to pass background checks, university judiciary review, and regular driving history audits.
