About the Role

Senior Electrical Design Engineer

NPX partners with nuclear utilities and new reactor projects to deliver innovative design engineering solutions that unlock performance. We combine decades of nuclear operation expertise with AI, digital tools, and lean processes, to help plants run safer, smarter, and more cost-effectively. Our Design Engineer team scales this expertise through advanced electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation & control (I&C) design practices to clients across Canada.

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality electrical design solutions for nuclear facilities. In this role, you will lead complex electrical design scopes, provide technical direction and oversight, and serve as a trusted engineering partner to clients.

You will apply deep electrical engineering expertise to guide projects from concept through detailed design, while mentoring junior engineers, driving continuous improvement in design practices, and championing innovation in how nuclear electrical design work is executed.

Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to the client site in Bruce County, as required by project needs.

Salary Range: $130-165k (Exact compensation may vary).

You will:

  • Provide technical leadership and engineering judgment, including defining electrical design approaches, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring alignment with safety, regulatory, and project requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and approve electrical engineering deliverables in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a technical interface with clients, vendors, regulators, and internal stakeholders, supporting design reviews, technical meetings, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to define and achieve the required functionality, performance, reliability, availability, and maintainability of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers by providing guidance, design oversight, and constructive technical feedback.
  • Work closely with QA and project teams to address design issues, support audits and reviews, and ensure overall design quality.
  • Contribute to the evolution of NPX's electrical design tools, standards, and processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and technical excellence.

What You Bring:

  • Results & Impact: You deliver measurable outcomes and business value.
  • Leadership & Influence: You elevate team performance and create influence through technical credibility and collaboration.
  • Adaptability & Growth: You thrive in dynamic environments and embody a growth mindset.
  • Initiative & Innovation: You proactively identify risks, opportunities, and solutions.
  • Cultural Amplification: You strengthen our culture and role model our values.

What You'll Find Here:

To do great work, you need to be well in mind, body, and soul. At NPX, we design our environment around the whole person, not just the job they do.

  • Mind: Tools and support for mental wellness, professional growth, and financial security.
  • Body: Health coverage, a spending account, and the freedom to rest and recharge.
  • Soul: Meaningful work, alignment with your values, and time to refresh with flexible time off.
  • Financial wellbeing? Covered. That means competitive pay and recognition for the impact you make.

NPX provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce and welcome people from all backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and abilities.

Pssst. Just a heads up that we use AI to help in the filtering of candidates based on job-specific criteria. Humans decide who to move forward, and this way we're able to spend more of our time supporting our candidates directly.
