About the Role
Special Education Teacher
Newport School District is seeking a certified and dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities during the Extended School Year (ESY) program Monday-Thursday, 8 am - 12 pm, beginning 7/6/26, ending 7/31/26. The ESY teacher is responsible for implementing IEP goals, collaborating with team members, and supporting student growth in a structured and supportive summer learning environment, as well as providing written progress reports at the end of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specially designed instruction aligned with student IEPs
Develop and implement engaging, individualized lessons and activities
Provide accommodations and modifications as outlined in student plans
Collect and report data on student progress toward IEP goals
Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom climate
Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families
Attend required staff meetings and pre-program training
