About the Role
QA Automation Engineer Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Reporting To: Executive Director, Architecture & Integrations
About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced QA Automation Engineer to own and drive automated testing for our back-office systems and enterprise integrations. This is a standalone role with significant ownership and impact, ideal for someone who thrives in autonomous environments and enjoys building, refining, and scaling QA automation frameworks. You will work closely with the back-office development team and collaborate with legacy Client QA resources during the transition period. The automation framework is already established - your role will be to get up to speed quickly, ensure it functions seamlessly within our environment, and enhance it where necessary. This position follows a hybrid schedule (3 days per week onsite in Atlanta).
What You'll Do
Own QA automation for back-office system integrations and implementations
Work within a Jira-driven test management workflow
Develop and maintain automation scripts primarily using Python
Execute and expand automated test cases that validate system responses and workflows
Ensure automation runs effectively within the existing framework (Bespoke-based)
Validate integration points across multiple internal and external systems
Identify and resolve issues tied to legacy Client components versus new environments
Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases
Potentially support future expansion of QA automation as the team grows
What You Bring
5+ years of QA automation experience (more senior experience strongly preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with Python-based automation frameworks
Experience automating web-based applications and system workflows
Familiarity with Jira for test case management and execution
Proven experience operating independently as a sole QA resource
Strong understanding of integration testing and system validation
Ability to ramp up quickly on existing frameworks and enterprise systems
Nice to Have:
Experience working in environments transitioning from legacy enterprise systems
Exposure to Bespoken framework (or similar automation frameworks)
Background collaborating with distributed or hybrid teams
Experience
5+ years of QA automation experience (more senior preferred)
Must have prior experience operating independently as a sole QA resource
Strong track record of hands-on automation work (not just manual QA)
Technical Requirements
Strong Python experience (automation scripting is Python-based)
Experience with Jira-driven test management and test case execution
Web automation experience (automating workflows, validating responses, follow-on actions)
Integration/system-level testing across multiple applications
Ability to ramp quickly on an existing framework (Bespoke-based)
No need to build from scratch - framework exists, needs ownership and optimization
Key Skills
Strong automation scripting using Python
UI test automation with Selenium WebDriver
Test framework design (POM, PyTest / unittest)
CI/CD integration using Jenkins / Azure Pipelines
Test management in Azure DevOps (ADO)
Defect tracking with Jira
Test case management using Xray
Version control with Git
API testing (REST, JSON validation)
Agile/Scrum methodology experience

Initial access to Client QA resources for knowledge transfer
Long-term ownership of QA automation for the team
